Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Front-End Developer to build and maintain high-quality, responsive, and interactive web pages and features for Dusk.com.pk. You will work closely with our design, editorial, and development teams to ensure a seamless user experience, combining art and programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Development: Build, optimize, and maintain the front-end of Dusk.com.pk using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure the website is mobile-friendly, SEO-optimized, and performs flawlessly across all devices and browsers.
  • CMS Integration: Work with WordPress (or other CMS platforms) to integrate dynamic content and templates.
  • Performance Optimization: Improve site load speed, accessibility, and overall UX/UI performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with back-end developers, designers, SEO specialists, and editors to implement new features and designs.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Bug Fixes & Updates: Debug and fix issues, and make regular updates to enhance functionality.
  • UI/UX Enhancement: Implement and maintain pixel-perfect designs provided by the design team and suggest improvements for better user experience.
  • Analytics & Tracking: Integrate analytics tools (like Google Analytics, Tag Manager) and ensure data is properly captured for reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years proven experience as a Front-End Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
    • Front-end frameworks like React.js, Next.js, Vue.js (React preferred).
    • Version control (Git/GitHub).
    • Responsive design principles (Mobile-First, Bootstrap, TailwindCSS).
  • Good understanding of:
    • SEO best practices for front-end development.
    • Browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
    • CMS platforms like WordPress (Elementor knowledge is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design collaboration tools.
  • Basic knowledge of API integration (REST APIs, GraphQL) is a plus.
  • Understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) standards is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) using Next.js.
  • Basic understanding of back-end technologies (Node.js, PHP, Laravel).
  • Experience with headless CMS integrations (e.g., Strapi, Contentful).
  • Interest in digital journalism, news media, or storytelling platforms.
